volz servos
Hey guys,
A friend is getting an older Hotspot ready to fly. He has upgraded the batteries to a123. We were worried the volz servos in the fins may not like the 6.6 volts. I can't find any info anywhere about the voltage range on these. It would suck to have to rework the fins to accept new servos. Any ideas?

RE: volz servos
Well, whatever source you use, my point was that there are alternatives to the Volz servos and in fact, the ones I used fit into the same space as the Volz with very little modification - and no external evidence of the switch. I think that Volz are concentrating on the UAV market and as such, their prices have gone up considerably - even for replacement parts. They wanted something like 40 Euros for a replacement gear set (plus shipping) [X(] - expensive given the value of the US Dollar these days...

Randy
I used Volz servos in thermal comp gliders years ago on 5 cell nicad packs with no problems. Not sure at LiFe voltage though, you might have to test and see what happens. Otherwise run a 6v regulator.
Cheers
