My New Airworld MB339
Guys,
Today saw the culmination of what has been a fairly long project. I had this 339 delivered about 18months ago and time has been spent on and off of it over that period. Today, however, I was able to go out and carry out some final taxi test and checkovers prior to the maiden flight. I originally thought she would come in over the 20kg UK CAA weight limit but she does feel pretty light for the size so I'll weigh her properly this week.
Paintwork is a fictitious scheme I lifted/tweaked from the Saudi Air Force Hawks. I couldn't find a true scale scheme that floated my boat and, to be honest, I think this scheme is more than believable! The paintwork was done by the (now retired [] ) Ray Habgood who always turns out a stunning job - and this was no exception. Lots of phone calls, photos and visits got it just to where we'd both envisaged it. Even he said he was "...proud to go out with this one...". [8D]
Span is 280cm
Length is 300cm
Weight is Approx 20kg
Powerbox Competition SRS
Powerbox iGyro
JR8711 all round
Jetcat 180RX
GBRJet CAT
Jetronics Air Systems
Anyway, here are some pics from today (couple of my Cougar too)....

Thats great Mark!!
Looks really nice, and I don't care if the scheme is not scale, the fullsize boys should copy your scheme for once
(PS: I have a brand new unflown Ultra Lightning with everything I can bring with me to JetPower, fancy a trade )

RE: My New Airworld MB339
Thanks guys. I'm really pleased with it. There are a lot of little details I've added (like 2000 ting screws) that really make this my favourite model I've owned to date. I'm hoping it flies as well as I'm anticipating! Still a few little scale bits and bobs to add yet.
As for the ARF, based upon the 3 schemes they've copied so far of mine I'd say about 4weeks! [:@]
Carsten, I'm pretty much an all scale guy now even though the Ultra Lightning is an awesome bit of kit I'll pass! I've had a word with a couple of guys who might be interested - will chat soon.
Cheers
Mark
PS Scott, nice use of the word "chuffed" LOL. I'll have you drinking tea out of a cup and saucer whilst pointing your little finger yet
