RC4WD hilux body
well, i bought this body. The drop bed is cool, but I had to rework my whole truck to match the body.
I had to use 91mm links (and even so, tweak them some) in place of the 98mm links I had.
That meant shortening my driveshafts a little (they were custom to begin with)
The drop bed doesnt allow for use of the stock rear body posts. You have to cut them off, or else the body sits high off the chassis.
Even with the posts cut, so the bed rests on the shock towers themselves, its still a tad higher then I would have liked.
So then I modded the running board mounts so they were higher. Cause if I didnt there was a full 1/2 inch between the body and the running boards.
I will post pics soon. It is started to look good, but believe me you have to work you truck a bit!

interesting job so far.
interesting job so far.
I used 300grit sand paper on several areas to dull the lexan and "age" the paint.
Getting the rust spots right will be the final key.
And I have to make wheel wells, and want mud flaps as well.
