320 not running properly
well l picked up a basically new plane 5 flights... problem is l can get the engine to run over 74000 an now its dropped down to max 55000...checked filters they are ok..checked uat looks fine no kink in fuel lines...lost as to what to check..max is at 100000 low 32000 pump is at 960..never touched any setting other then learn rc..I'm so running jeti...an a 3s life battery...any suggestions

Can you share pics of the fuel system (suction & pressure)? External vent, vent lines, delivery, filter, couplers, etc... What size and type of tubing is being used? Have you tried to manually run the pump into a catch can? To visually inspect that fuel is being delivered well? Did the previous owner have it sitting a while? Perhaps try to run a large amount of fuel through the pump in a closed loop.
That is where I would start. But it sounds like a pump problem.

l don't have any pics on the phone..the vent is 6mm an all fuel is 6mm...had two filters..the 960 pw..l haven't looked to see.going to try again tonight with a different battery..the c rating isn't clear for the battery an its not a kingtech one...its a spektrum 3200 3s life..it may be the problem..

I don’t think the C rating is going to matter after the turbine is running. In fact, on one of my planes where I can't fit a larger capacity battery (+3800mAh), I use a 2100mAh, but I have a second 2100mAh to use as a jump-battery. Once the turbine is up and running I unplug the second jump-battery, the single 2100 runs perfectly, even with the larger turbine/pump. With the single 2100 it would fail to start, with a low rpm or volt error.

Also, what type of jet is it? I have seen engines run differently between models. Is there ducting on the inlets? Does it have a 300 series pipe (IDs matter)? Is it a straight pipe or bifurcated? There are a number of factors at play. I presume the previous owner said it ran perfectly? My money would be on the pump though, I would run a large amount of fuel in a closed loop into your fuel can.

its in a skymaster hawk 1/3 it has the big pipe for the 300 size engine..it did run fine no issues l was at the event an saw the plane without an problems..in running the fuel in a large loop what would l be looking for..l can do that

Mainly for you to create a controlled environment where you're not running the turbine at 50K and you're not taking anything out of the jet. It should help determine if the pump is actually delivering fuel properly. Example, when you increase the throttle the ECU is telling the pump to flow more fuel. In a closed loop you can test this manually, you can set to a desired rate (up or down) and see what is happening (flow wise). More importantly, you're taking a lot of variables out of the picture. If it works perfectly and you are able to run it at a high rate/flow, then you can begin to suspect other aspects of the system. I think there are small gears that mesh very closely in the pump, even very small foreign bodies can easily jam the mechanism. If it sat,it could be gummed up. Running the pump for a little while might help clear it out. I'm just speculating here, having the jet would make diagnosing things much easier. Just trying to help.

ok..another question should l do the learn rc at 100 or 150%..running jeti ds-16..run many jetcats an rams as well swiwin..but they all do or at least l do the learn rc at 100% no issues

I fly Futaba, but I don't think 100 or 150 should matter. The learn process is teaching the ecu the % or atv value that it should expect for full or idle, etc... So if you teach it that full is 100% with full up-trim, then the ECU should use that for full. Does the GSU show full throttle position while it is running at 50k? If you let it run, does it shut-down or remain running at 50k?

in the top right it shows 100 percent.. but the throttle curve only goes up to 55 or 60 in that area an the rpms show 55400 in that area..depending on the wind I'll try a relearn an see what happens..or at least the pump test in the loop

ok. take some pics/video of the GSU while you're trying it. Let it run at 55 or 60 for a while to see if it shuts down automatically. If the GSU shows 100% in the top right (I could be wrong), I'm pretty sure the ECU should not be happy about that and trigger a shut-down with a low-rpm off condition.

Very curious to see if the pw jumps up to 960 immediately, that is close to 1000 which is very very high. If it shoots up to that number immediately, it is kind of telling you there is a restriction. Anyway, not trying to dissuade you from any particular redirection, but not seeing a speed-low/low-rpm shut-off and the high pw are 2 red flags for me.

I'm at a loss myself two of us pulled the system apart..fuel system that is checked filters tank switched tank to a spare..the uat has holes but not a filter an you can see through them..has us stumped

ran the pump in the closed loop sounded like it runs strong..not sure how to run it so l can see the pw..but hopefully the wind will die down..to crappy to run the engine today...pulled the rest of the fuel system out..all looks good..no blockage or kinks..

the pump was handed off to a third party shipper after being shipped to the wrong town 8hrs the wrong direction...DHL says package is on hold an hasn't changed in two weeks
