T/A RC-10 GT conversion to 2.4
I have an old RC10GT with a marginal receiver. I'd like to convert it to 2.4g. It's currently on A.M. Since I don't race, just play around with it, I was considering something from HobbyKing. I power the servos and current Rx with 4 AA Alkalines. Nominal voltarg around 6v. Do the current surface Rx's function using this method? Thank you.

Electric powered cars now power the receiver through the Speed contoller using the main battery .
Its called the BEC , Battery Eliminator Curcuit . Gets rid of the extra batteries .
Nitro cars still power the receiver with a battery pack like you have .
It should work fine the way you are thinking .
Or you could buy an external BEC , tap into the power feed wires and do away with the receiver battery pack .
