After run maintenance ?
So I always hear its ok to skip the after run oil if your gonna use it again soon. I am curios what you all think a short time is... Days, Weeks, Months?? Can I skip using my afterrun oil if I'm not gonna run the truck again for say 2 weeks max is that ok? My truck will sit for a week or 2 max between uses.
Thanks

If your fuel has a good dose of castor in it, you just need to run the engine dry at the end of the day do it will not fire any more. Leave the piston at BDC and it should be fine for a few weeks easily. If your fuel is fully synthetic oil based, still run it dry, but oil it if sitting more than one week.

Since I would run engines on both Saturday and Sunday I would run my engines dry on Sunday and use an after-run oil. Someone years ago suggested K-Mart air tool oil so I used that. It was ok for fuel engines and didn't affect the seals. I don't fly fuel anymore so I have no idea what it's equivalent would be today. But it was a lot, I mean a lot, cheaper than the after run oil sold by hobby shops.

That’s why I use ATF. It’s a few dollars a quart and lasts forever. Air tool oil is usually a little more per quart, but either works perfectly. High detergent oil works good for keeping carbon at bay.
