Default Bought a PAW diesel, is it a .29 or .35..??

I bought a PAW diesel from a person with little knowledge about it. How can I decide if I bought a PAW.29 or a PAW.35 engine without dismantling it..??

I too have found myself in almost the exact situation, someone gifted me a PAW engine, it also looks like either a .29 or .35........I sent a message to PAW in England, hopefully l'l hear back from them soon, If I do Ill post what I find out. Do you have fuel for your PAW?

Some pics would be helpful. PAW often stamp the engine capacity on the backplate. Otherwise look at the dimensions within the exhaust ports and compare them to that in the following article. More room within the four head retaining screws for the .29 c/w the .35.

Annoyingly PAW sometimes neglect to stamp the capacity on their engines. As an alternate you may wish to weigh your engine and compare it to that in the list.at the following url.

Note that the .35 is 10-15 Grams lighter that the .29

So a plain bearing .35?

Does it have considerable too-fro motion in the crankshaft fit?

Thanks guys for fast replies..! Mine weighs in at 286g and has the crankshaft endplay so I believe mine too is a plain bearing but what size..??? Nothing on the backplate..=(..!
Considering mine has an RC throttle it should weigh either 300 or 310g according to PAW:s homepage so I´m still undecided. PAW does NOT specify w/wo muffler/propnut/washer..=(..!!
I´m unable to attach pics which used to be a snap earlier..!!! What´s new here, please advise.!

I'd guess that the PAW datasheet would list weight without mufflers. Can you check your weight on another balance? Otherwise there's something very odd.

I used two additional kitchen scales and came up with 275g and 277g respectively. My previous scale again showed 285g so - YES- it appears to be a bit off. All weights include RC carb, muffler, prop-bolt and aluminium washer.

From Mike Billintons article on the PAW.29 we read:
"Weight - 9.6ozs(with silencer of .6oz) (.27 Kilo total)"
That makes for the .29 engine a crude 270g or if you will 9.6 x 28.35 = 272g.
Well, that fits pretty well for my engine being a plain bearing .29 engine...=)..!! Comments please, THANKS.!

Sounds like it. In the absence of any better information it's a .29 PB. I did have a 35 PB but passed it on to someone else.
