40 Cub conversion - help needed
I have a 62" wingspan Piper Cub that I am trying to convert to electric. I have an Aeveox 1005/3Y motor that I am going to put on it and Motocalc says I need a 4.4:1 gearbox. Does anyone know where I can find a gearbox of this ratio that will fit on my Aveox motor? The Aveox website only lists a 4.5:1 gearbox and I am unsure where to look for one that will work with my motor. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Swingman, The gearbox in the Aveox site will work just fine. You may need to in crease the pich or diameter of the prop a little. If you have an Astro Whatt meter you can fine tune the power system. Hope this helps. BTW if you want to try otherratios go to Model Electronics website. They have gearboxes that will fit just about any motor wih an almost unlimited range of ratios. The superbox will fit your Aveox motor and Mr. Peterson can match up a ratio for your application. Jollyroger
