Question 3W vers DA vers CH
I have been reading post where people are changing the 3W ignitions to DA and so on. My question is why not CH. In my past mishaps have found out that the 3W DA can not be repaired where most of the time CH can be repaired and cost less when new???

RE: Question 3W vers DA vers CH
CH makes a conversion kit for 3-W engines, we sell quite a few. Almost no sales as DA replacements. The DA is simpler to install on a 3-W than a CH , but as you said its not normally repairable.

RE: Question 3W vers DA vers CH
The C&H Ignition works great on 3Ws. I have friend that has several rigged as such. You can actually get a little more timing advance out these units. Retro-fit info is available from C&H...
The DA and 3W units are manufactured over seas and not cost effective to repair, I guess.
The most common problem is typically the caps, these are serviceable. The pick up units are available as well.
I've had failures with all listed above. One of the three, sticks out no more than the latter in my experiences.
