crash-landing repairs help needed
i had a HARD landing with my H9 Ultra stick today [&o]
-the landing gear ripped off... not too much damage to the fuse tho (just a little on the sides and the bottom ply is gone...)
- 2 of the ribs have broken "bridges" the overall shape of the ribs is OK (thank god!)
would appreciate some help on HOW2s... especially the part on cutting the covering open to get to the ribs that need repairs. Is cutting the whole bay between 2 ribs the only solution? or is there a more "gentle" technique? (dont mind sticking a small patch on the wing if needed)
any help would be welcome,
vasek

For the landing gear, it doesn't hurt to strip the covering from the wood and the gear mount, about an inch around, and add a layer of glass cloth, using resin. That area takes a lot of abuse. And use nylon screws, if you don't already.
On the wing, cutting the covering back to the nearest supporting structure isn't required, but it does look neater when completed.
