Default Battery / Reciever Voltage

I have a Ofna Hyper 7 and have just purchased som 2250 Mh Ni - MH batteries and understand 4 of these will only total 4.8 volts instead of 6 volts .

Is it possible to run 5 of these to make the 6 volts ? What about 6 which would mean 7.2 volts ?? would 7.2 volts kill the reciever and servos ?

5 should be fine, but i think 6 would be too much.

Just about everybody runs 5 cell packs in the cars and trucks. A single cell is rated at 1.2 volts, but peak charged it should be between 1.3-1.4 volts
making the 4 cell pack come of the charge around 5.2-5.3 volts
a 5 cell pack will come of a charge at around 6.4-6.5 volts

A 5 cell pack is best
Yes 6 cells will burn up your servos unless you run a voltage regulator

Some servos are only rated for 4.8 packs too, so be sure what you're running

Most guys run 5 cell 1100 mah packs in the buggies
