Default RE: spur gear

make sure your engine is alligned properly with the gear beacuse i had a similar problem. it stripped the top part of the spur gear. if you re align in and make sure it has a tight fit it still may be usable. mine was.

Please elaborate on this. I was going through a spur every tank of gas or so but it was not because I was stripping them. My gears were melting from the center. If it is the teeth then you have a mesh problem, brake is dragging or something else is possibly binding in the drive train. If it is melting from the inside then it can very well be the slipper clutch is not tight enough. I have learned to keep at least 5 spurs in the toolbox after the month I was dealing with the 1 spur per tank issue.

I hope this helps.

Default RE: spur gear

i stripped one spur and automatically went to a metal gear. (stupid move[:@]) its better just to keep buying cheap plastic ones to have around. ALWAYS CHECK YOUR MESH!!! and be sure your spur is tightened down all the way and 1/2 turn out.
