Which Hangar 9 ARF is best!!!!!
Hey guys I will be buying a DA100 and am looking at a 33% to 35% ARF,, looking hard at the hangar 9's, I will be flying alittle IMAC and alot of funfly's, aerobatics, and practicing 3D,,,
t-rolls, harriers etc,,, I like the composite ARF's but being on a limited budget the HANGAR9's look good just give me a vote and a comment if you guys would like to tell me why you picked the one you did (the comments would be appreciatted that would help me more than anything)

They aren't out yet, but my vote would be the Edge. I prefer the mid wing for 3D, (seams to have less coupling), and also the straight leading edge of the wing and the lightest weight which is also real important in my opinion for 3D. So I say the Edge 540 even though they aren't out yet.
Not really a bad choice in the bunch.

I have the new 330S and she is a great bird! I have a 3W-75 in it and got it down to 22#'s even. Slow flight is awesome.
Also the new 540 would be an excellent choice. Its better at 3D while the Extra is better for pattern work(but will 3D also!). The only problem you will have is both plug wires will stick out of the cowl on the Extra. Probably the same on the Edge.

i own 2 of the older extra's. if the new one is as good as mine, then that would be an awesome all round plane. ive seen a couple of the new ones fly, but never got around to asking how they are...

If you ever fly an Extra 330S, an Edge will be a disappointment.
BTW- I have a 330S with a ZDZ-100, It is my fifth 330S.
Three lost to dumb thumbs, or trying to fly beyond my capabilities, one to stupidity. ( and no there not the same thing)[X(]

While I enjoy my H9 330s quite a bit you may want to consider one of chip hydes new 34% extra's. at 799 it's a good price and it's a little bigger than the H9 and built for a 100. It may be another month or 2 before you can get it though - chiphyde.com

The Extra is a very nice plane. For the money though I feel there are better alternatives. Nothing wrong with H9, they are a class act, however I would be shorting your choices by saying that that is the best for the $$.
By far, I feel the Comp ARF 2.6, Aeroworks 35% or Wild Hare 35% are better planes. The comp arf is a work of art and at $990 in white.. a great deal for its technology and construction. Also lets you paint it how you'de like it...

I have flown smaller 84" wspan extra's and they flew great,, Is hangar 9 taking preorders on the Edge, or what,, and someone (a trueful [

The edge has a straight leading edge vs the extra which tapers back some (as do most planes!). This allows the edge to stall the wing faster(or easier!) which is great for hi alpha flight. Its more stable in the hi alpha environment. The Extra will fly 3D fine, the Edge just a little better while the Extra is slightly more stable in the pattern work.

I guess the Edge sounds like a winner,, I wonder when the Edge's will be out for the public, I don't mean preordering but order and recieve the next week etc.etc....

I would consider a any of them but I guess I believe that I want the Edge because it is new... any ideas on the delivery dates....
