Most of the strong 50cc engines are performing quite well using an MSC 22-8, and a Menz 23-8. I prefer the MSC.
If you are going to use a carbon prop, I would suggest a prop 1 inch longer than a wood one, but of the same pitch. Since each engine type varies a little, some experimentation may be needed. If a carbon prop seems to be "ripping" at high rpm, try going up another inch in length, or one more step in pitch.

Yesterday, I put the first 4 flights on my Patty & Brison3.2. Used BME 22/8 and performance was oustanding. It's the only one I've tried so far.
