Queation about mega motor temp.
I just got my new T-rex up and running with a mega 15/16/3 motor and it is getting about 150dg. Is this to hot ? What are you guys running as the best pinion ?I started with a 13 tooth but am running the 11 now due to what seems a hot motor but temp is still high. Mark

Congrads on the T-rex. I here it is a great heli. I am running a hacker in my corona120 and I don't know the exact degree but it gets hot. It will burn you. I did reduce the electronic timing and it helped a lot. I have the phoenix60 and there is a setting for that.

Thanks for the help the heli is flying great and I did search and find where one person stated that anything below 200dg was OK so at 150 I don't think I am going to worry to much unless I see a smoke trail coming out of it. Mark

I'm running the same setup as you Mega 15/16/3 with 11T, CC35 high governor and a TP2100 3S pack. It does run hot (hotter on 13T), but seems to be happy. I am getting reasonably good flight times.
The biggest thing is to make sure that there is no binding or bad bearings in the drivechain. Bad meshing or a tight belt will heat up your motor and kill your battery faster than you can say "hey, what the.."
Also, mine ran hotter when it was heavier. Getting rid of training gear and going eCCPM with a rotorworkz CF frame really made a big difference!
