Default fuel pumps

What kind of pumps do you guys use to fuel your planes.....looking for something that can handle the volume, yet not blow the fuel lines......

Turbine or ducted fan??? Either way you can't go wrong using fueling cans from the Jersey Modeler. That is what I and many others use for our turbine models. Fully self contained with its own battery pack. Tell him what radio you use and he will wire it up so that you can charge it with your TX cable. Take a look: www.jerseymodeler.com

Tell him that I sent ya!!!!

Default Fuel pump

Nony,
I've been using the Kavan #190 for almost four years, so far, and have no failures. One of them has developed a very small leak, and is getting hard to prime at the first use of the day, but I consider them a good deal at $30.00. They are great for kerosene.
They run on 12 volts, and deliver good volume without excessive pressure. You can fill a Bandit or BobCat in about two or three minutes (estimated).
You can get them from Hobby Lobby.

Also, a very fine pump is available from The Jersey Modeler.
This pump is IMHO the best around, but is more expensive than the Kavan pump.

Jersey Modeler makes a very well thought out fuel can which includes the pump and a Ni-Cad battery pack, including all of the fuel lines and fittings. Check out the website www.jerseymodeler.com (hope I have the right URL---can someone chime in here to confirm?)

Good luck-hope this helps you find what you want.

Default Fuel Pump

I use the one that JetcatUSA sells. www.jerseymodeler.com also sells the same pump, they also sell the pump with a fuel can and all fittings already made up and ready to use. A rechargeable battery comes with the setup.

I'm real happy with the pump.

The best pump to use for filling your tanks in your turbine aircraft is the one that feeds your engine. I use a Simjet pump fitted inside a piece of pvc conduit and it is powered by 3 of D size nicads which are also inside the piece of conduit. A switch wired so that it will go either forward or backwards for de-fueling is also fitted. The whole pump is self powered and self contained. It works like a treat. The hausel pump (Simjet/jetcat/ram) is about the same size as the D size nicads and the hole lot fitts neatly into the conduit. I can take some pics if someone wants to see it and post them here. This new pump from Flightworks looks like a pretty neat one as well. Most people may say its a bit expensive for a fuel pump but they are made to last and pump fuel at a very fast rate

Hey Wayne,

Jon and I just tried out a new pump you might be interested in. Its compact, kero safe, and runs off a 12V supply.

I even know a guy that wired it to an engine ECU and successfully ran a KJ-66 with it, although it's not well suited for the application and I would never recommend it...

Default new pump

Wayne,

We were soooooooo glad to get rid of that old automotive fuel pump. Our new system is far superior. I will check on pricing and availability.

Got everything here now for your turbine and we should be ready for the run-in one night this week. Contact me off-list and let me know when you're available.

Thanks,
Kelly
