i think the tmaxx is a good truck i had mine for 5 years and it still runs strong it was mine and my dads first gas truck so we did crash alot and we had to learn how to tune but acouple of weeks ago my tmaxx went full speed into a wall hit the right arm and nothing broke at all

people bash stock trucks hard and expect them to not break...any truck can be built to bash with the right parts....though the t-maxx isn't the tuffest stock and the most annoying feature would have to be the plastic shock caps...those pop fairly easy..other than that i haven't really seen much outta of em. breakin..oh yeah heavier shocks are a must!

I have not broken a stock bulkhead in 2 years of hard racing. I have broken 1 bottom A-arm and that is it. The Pins that hold the A-arms on do get bent though. I upgraded mine to the titanium pins. I don't care what anyone says, T-Maxxes are tough. I also think they are still good race trucks as well. Look at how good the Tamiya TNX has done in racing. The TNX is simply a slightly bigger carbon copy of the T-maxx. In fact, as much as I like Revos, in some ways I still like race preped T-maxxs better. From a cost perspective I will admit that if you buy a rechargable reciever pack, charger, and good tires and rims for the T-maxx the price is about the same as a Revo.

i've got just under two gallons though my t-maxx and i still luv it. i've broken a few parts here and ther but i bash pretty hard so you have to expect something to break every now and then. here's my list of broken parts: rear bulk head (first week i owned it, trying to show off for family and clipped a fence post with the left rear whell at wot), fuel tank (i still havn't figured out how that happened), one rod end, one bent tie-rod, and a stripped spur (acually it didn't even really strip, it was missing one tooth so i replaced it), and thats it. maybe 30 bucks worth of parts total..........not bad for a nine months and two gallons of HARD bashing. i don't know why so many people say that t-maxx is weak. they must be under the impression that other models NEVER break or something. anyway i would recomend the maxx series to anyone. but if you get a t-maxx, ditch the reverse before you even break it in........reverse is just a novelty. i only tried to use mine about four times, three of witch it either didn't work or in got stuck in revese. besides it will make you a better driver knowing that you can't back away from things.

RE: Whats all this talk about t-maxx
that is treu a maxx is a good truck that is what made the revo what it is today I have one and I love no I dont need to have a couple of grand to be competitive in the mt class. It is a good truck I have run mine into everything imaginable and only broke shock caps and a front bulk head I installed a foc after the second day because reverse was pissing my off so it had to go kno wthat I am starting to built I will leave some stock parts on and take the others off were need to. So a maxx will and can keep up with a revo you just have to put time and pracite in to the picture for it to happen heck I race my MGT against bb revos and dont do to bad but anyways people need to quite bashing the maxx becuase with ou tthe tmaxx the revo would not be what it is today

RE: Whats all this talk about t-maxx
People rip on the t-maxx all the time, but they don't realize that without it selling thousands of units, there may not have even be a REVO or a JATO on the market. A lot of characteristics you see on the MGT and LST and all the other trucks were coppied from the t-maxx. Like it or not, the t-maxx is basicly the backbone of what nitro r/c is today.

RE: Whats all this talk about t-maxx
My TMAXX breakage report:
All a arms snapped, stock shocks bent and cracked, skid plates broken, steering servo stripped out, bulk head breaks and even more. Hell, i didnt even bump something and my rear bulkhead fell apart. I check all the parts before I start driving to make sure they work... somehow in that drive, the rear bulk head just cracked to pieces. The tmaxx has to be the easiest truck to break that I have EVER driven. Expect to spend a LOT of money fixing it. I am over 500 bucks into this one of upgrades to keep it running.
