Practiced all day for the Cactus Classic next weekend.

My Composite-ARF Extra 260 arrived on Monday. I'm going to grab the manual and get busy. I'll take some pictures along the way and put a built thread up in the "Assembly Required" forum.

Off to work on it!!!!!!!!

Later,

Dean

Do you mean bored, or has lumber learned to type?

I'm picking up my new Radiowave Panzl Arf on Friday... gettin' everything ready to go in it... running servos, assembling fuel tank, assembling SWB self-adjusting tray, pulled a DA-100 from another plane to mount on it (I prefer to have a motor I know runs well)etc...

Hey Dean looking forward to seeing that build.

I've only flown the Carden 260 and it was FINE.

Today has been a white out. 15" of snow have fallen and its still coming down. But, I have spent the entire day in my sweatpants, finishing my 1/4 scale CAP up. The canopy glue is drying. Earlier I cut the carbon pushrods to length and put the ends on. made the servo connections and etc etc. Now I need to go slide in fuel tank and glue the tray. Need to figure a way to make it removable for future inspection though. Then I gotta mount the fuel filter up and run the tygon to my fuel dot and to the brison in the nose.

Maiden voyage is on the first nice weekend of spring. Since we just got 15" of snow, that may be a while. []

Got the canopy glued into the hatch on my Composite-ARF Extra 260 today. Once I get some serious progress completed, I'll start a build thread. I don't want the thread to go on for two months, so I though I'd get about half done then start posting over a couple weeks.

Later,

Dean

Here's a picture of the fuselage on my workbench!!

Yes, I'm building this plane in the middle of the floor!!!

Once the contest is over, I'll start posting pictures. I don't want the thread to take forever, so I need to get a head start before I start putting pictures in a thread.

Later,

Dean

Hey Dean nice man...Im glad to see you build this you're self...you will become more intimate with the plane and the result will be you becoming a better pilot.

If you need anything just call me I can and will help you with what ever you have trouble's with...

Word to the wise, get a drop cloth from Home depot to put down under the plane then you can do all the cutting without making such a horrible mess..

A few tips from me, Use ONLY ZAP Glues, nothing else compare's...when mixing the 30min epoxy. mix it thuroughly, it needs to be agitated for at least 2 mins...if you need fillers Use Milled Fiberglass NOT Micro Ballons...Use ratio Cups to measure the epoxy..

Lots of talk on glue but over the years I have learned that if not done right you will have weak joints, and soft bonds..

Thanks amigo!! Great info to know.

If I hit something I can't handle, I may still pack it up and drop it off at your place to finish it.

Dean
