Dreamworks Offically Moved...
Dreamworks Model Products has completed the move to our new location. We are still without internet access until wednesday so order processing will still be a bit slower than usual but we are shipping.
Thank you for your patience and patronage!

Todd, mounted the thrust vector and merlin last night and this morning. Servo Mounts are glued in and curing for the control of it. Dude, I love the design. Thanks a bunch!

How much did you pay for the t/v?. I had one from TAM (4-axis) but I like the way yours was made with full attachment to the turbine.

The top one is on a "U" and I don't think heat will transfer there. But the side stub goes all the way through to the inside of the pipe. I'm pretty sure heat will transfer out on it. How much, I don't know.
What I was gonna do is just run the thing at idle for a few minutes and just see if they get soft. If so, I don't know what I'll go to. Any ideas would be appreciated.

My memory is kinda fading on this issue, but isn't / wasn't there an AMA reg that stated that such devices could only be used if they were manufacturer designed or approved ? Or was that only for thrust REVERSAL, not for vectoring ?
Good luck with the new premises Todd - glad to see that you're doing well enough in the business to need such expansion.

Nice vid Sean! I would love to try this out! Could anyone describe how the merlin performs? Very interesting power and fuel usage. How does the throttle feel? Nice looking motor.
Congratulations on your new place Todd! I will put an order in soon.

I own Two Merlins. There were some growing pains with a new engine, but all kinks have been worked out. The one on my kingcat is unbelievable performance. It's loud as can be, and gobs and gobs of blow.
I expect on this rookie which will be considerably lighter than my kingcat to have accelerated unlimited vertical on take off. That along with the thrust vectoring should be quite a show.
My biggest conern right now is over rotation on first flight
Gonna have to come off the ground gently!

Sean, how much fuel do you carry on board your king cat and how many minutes do you fly? What do you mean by growing pains? I thought this engine has been around a while? The TV2X should be really fun. I feel like my rookie could use it. THe pitch only is ok but needs something.

Merlin is more power than a P-160.
I carry the Kingcat tanks and the mueler smoke tank, I use the smoke tank as a center fuel tank. I fly 12 minutes with plenty of time to spare, even if I'm burning up the sky.
The rookie carries significanlty less fuel, but the flight routine will be much more intense.
