Just bought a new ESC and are having some issues
Hi there everyone,
Just got a new ESC to my monstertruck because I burned out the original due to a 19T motor change.
I got the LRP A.I. Runner Plus Reverse which I heard good things about. But I have two issues so far:
#1. I do not know what is normal but when I hit gas it is a lack in about 1 second before it goes off. When I hit reverse it speeds up directly. What is normal?
#2. I find it pretty hot when I am driving it. But I have only tried it indoors on a small space going forward and backward all the time..With pretty big pinoin(22) with my 19T motor. But should I be concerd about it?
#3. I also got a new reciver and it has ch.1 ch.2 and battery, but from what I understand there shouldn't be any problems running it from the power from the ESC right? Or is it better to run it on a separate battery? Maybe this is why it is a bit hot?
Thankful for all your answers and suggestions!

#2 If you are running hot and can not touch the ESC with your hand for more than a few seconds without getting burned then you should be worried and put on a smaller pinion.
#3 Most ESC's have a BEC circuit built in so that the voltage supplied to the RX is at 6V (varies somewhat but usually 6V). RX are meant to be run off the ESc in an electric car and that is not the cause of it running hot.

RE: Just bought a new ESC and are having some issues
I have tried some more and it seems like what ever I do(switch the motor cables and such) it always thinks that forwards is backwards when I turn it on. So I have to switch the transmitter throttle polarity every time!
What can I do about that?
Thanks / Gnolen

Thanks R/C fan-addict!
I was writing my second message while you posted...I bet I have to try some more with the polarity change/motor cables..
