Yea, but I think someone with your rep and the fact that you know what your are doing can go along way when it comes to who gets the sale

Wow, small world huh. I will deal with you Matt, when the time comes to step up to one of the big boys. Don't know I purchase from him with only 2 feedbacks and both from a purchase, not a sale.

RE: Merc style stern drives
The real question is who is going to produce a stern drive made for High HP.. ? Like lets say a CMB 35RS....[X(]
Now my dream boat would be a 96" firewater hull with 3 CMB 35RS engines and stern drives on each.
Ok now if you looked at that in the real world.. Your talking $6000 in engines, another $1000 for the hull. And if there was a stern drive it would probably run upwards of $600 each.. OK.. $10k for a boat is crazy.. But it would be smoking fast and damn good looking. Wonder if I put the company logo on it, will it become a write off.. [>:]
I think I will stick to zenoahs & QDs for now. Unless we can get the CMB down to the $1500 range..
Yes I'm crazy, but I just love Big Boats and lots of HP. So what if its not practicle its DAMN Fun..

Well they give you the scale look, you don't use a rudder as the whole unit acts as the rudder and the have a 16% overdrive, so if you have an engine that makes its power at a lower rpm it bumps it up to a more hydrodynamicaly (SP?) efficient speed.. in other words it spins the prop faster then the engines rpms

RE: Merc style stern drives
Is the trim angle of these RCM drives adjustable via a turnbuckle or nut and bolt somewhere? I can't quite tell from the photos that I have seen?

I dont know Raj - The auction you found is a steal compared to the $335 listing [link=http://cgi.ebay.com/NIB-Big-Outdrive-Unit_W0QQitemZ6057299405QQcategoryZ34058QQrdZ1QQcm dZViewItem]I found under Parts and Accessories for the same drive[/link]
I may have to consider higher prices after all !!

Well as of right now I know they are using one of the RCM drives with a QD35 and it has been handling it with no issues.
I think the RCM will also be seeing some inline action if matt ever gets around to building it... j/k
We shall see how things goe with my inline setup running 2 full mod 260's to a single s6.. What part breaks first I don't know. But I have a feeling it might be a crank, that goes first

I am sure there are differences in quality and if I were a gambling man I would say the RCM one is second to the MH$ "Z" drive. But I dont know where the MH$ drives are produced (I understand they do not lay up hulls in Germany). The finish of both drives is comparable. On tear down I could not differentiate many of the components (I hope they went in the appropriate case).
Neither MH$ "Z" drive or RCM drive are build for tremendous power as neither can run a larger prop than 70mm. But with the 16% overdrive that is not a bad thing. I am sure you could bolt a bigger motor to either drive but your still only talking about a 1/4" flex cable and a 70mm prop.
I have the option to switch between the S6 drives and the RCM drives (remember that the S6 is larger than the RCM and the MH$ "Z" drives). on any of my project boats. I dont presently have an MH$ "Z" drive and for the $405 + Shipping, I cant say I will be buying one soon. MH$ Sell the "Z" drive and S6 drive for basically the same price. The S6 will swing up to a claimed 80mm prop and is claimed to handle up to 14hp (but given there is no warranty on any of the drives - it is no sweat of their nose if it breaks with 14hp)
I will be running a pair of my RCM drives behind the coupled twin 52cc Zenoahs in my XXXBoatworks GTX. With 70mm 5 bladed props there should be enough prop to load up the motors. Be worth a try (but sadly I wont be as quick as Del is at building her [&o])

Well what do you guys expect from a seller with 3 for a feedback rating.. Unless they are 15 or higher with some decent sales in the history I am always very annoying before I will bid.. Multiple Emails, maybe even a phone call. I don't like being scammed so the extra effort is worth it to me...
