Just curious..although we have an event calendar of sorts was wondering if you guys would like a dedicated jet event subforum here inside the main jets forum or if you would rather keep it as is using the current tools and methods. Please vote. Your votes will determine whether one is created or not.

Yes, and if possible arrange for automatic deletes from the calender when the event is past history.

Or limit/default the portion of the calender that is shown to the next 12 months.

I can create a default "view" that you could shorten/lengthen to show 30 days, 60 days, 90, etc..

I'd say no, just because I know from that lots of people won't bother looking in the sub-forum.

Marc, how about do something really useful like make the "wanted" section of RCU ads something that is Useful?

You indicate that we are the most posted forum, the leaders of the website, yet I post a want ad that gets 15 hits in weeks. Subforums do not get looked at like the main forum, I agree with Gordon, but really, please fix the wanted forum.

In the past three days, wanted ads have gone completely un deleted in this forum, yet when I put one, it was gone in 15 minutes.

sean,

while you are completely off topic here since the subject and poll relates to a jet event forum my question back to you is "did you report those other wanted ads to moderators?" You can answer me privately so that we may continue to keep this thread on task.

thank you

marc

Just keep the event "stickey" the way it is. WHen some thing new is posted it shows up as unread and I check it. A sub forum would reqiure checking each time I log on.

Nah, I like things the way they are, I fear change!

Seriously, seeing the .......Jet events reminds me to keep myself updated. A sub forum may 'pass me by'![&o]

The jet events thread (as it currently exists) is unorganized.....if I want to find out what is happening in Seattle the last weekend of August, I have to sift through the entire thread........ A separate event sub forum should make it easier to find events, and easier to plan trips.. I voted "yes"
