Torpedo .40
I have a torpedo.40 not sure if what i have is the KB torpedo .40 or not it has been stored in a box for quite sometime and all the motor says is torpedo .40 nothing else i do know it is a CL engine is there any info out there for this engine thanks

Torpedo 40 is (was) made by K&B. What version is it: front intake or rear? Rear intakes were good for racing, front intakes actually make pretty good stunt engines.

The one i have is a front intake its been years that i flown a CL plane and was fun back then i forgot i had that engine was looking for my old cox motors and stumbled across it hideing away in a box with a johnson 29 red head i havent seen in a long time. now what to do with it lol lol

Both good for F/F, too. I really ought to get my ones back in use ... someday. Light and powerful.

What to do with it - asnd the Johnson.
Well you can alwas do the EBAY thing The K&B - C/l version (with the cast-in place trumpet shaped intake?) probably will not make you rich, but Johnsons seem to command pretty good prices. They all get better prices if you have the boxes and papers.
Plan B would be to get a Brodak CONTROLINE Oriental kit or ARF (or similar) and enjoy the heck out of that K&B!

If it is the one with the dykes ring, make sure the ring is not stuck (gummed up) before running it. As a matter of fact, you might want to take it apart and check that the bearings and wrist pin are free also.
