I was reading through the general ROAR rules. It was not clear to me if making a transmission that switched from "posi-traction" to differential on the fly would be "legal". From how I read the rules even a limited slip differential would probably be prohibited due to its clear traction control feature. Wich led me to believe that even something that switched from a legal posi to a legal open differential could be disallowed. Does anyone have any input on this before I ask ROAR. Might save me the time in bothering if there are clear cases or definate answers.

Limited slip is a generic term for Posi-traction, which is a GM term. If you can go in/out of a limited slip mod, and you know Posi setups are illegal, then limited slip, even as you describe, would be against the rules.

Sorry for the confusion. what I ment is going from direct drive on both wheels(no differential) to standard differential on the fly.
