Wow, only three posts in several months? Does nobody like this engine or what?
Anybody know an all up weight of this engine, ignition, and pitts style muffler?

I have the MVVS 45 as well and absolutely LOVE it!!! I concur will the previous statements on its characteristics. I am running a NX 22X8 prop with a wraparound BCM pitts muffler and straight out of the box 6500 rpms. Have ran about a gallon and a half and it is getting stronger will tach it probably at 2 gallons to see what it is running.
I like it so much I picked up another one!!! Awesome!!

Love it too. First engine (after a ZDZ40 and Brison/Revolution52) on a 2m ship that does not shake it apart. Smooth and powerfull.

I am looking for a ship like the Agressor 240 shown in your post. Is it an ARF? Who is the manufacturer?
cheers

ggroyal1, I have the 45GT not the 2x version in the same plane-yet to fly it. Having trouble starting that puppy. Once started the throttle seems 'either/or'...fast idle or full speed.....suggestions?
Have you flown yours yet? What prop you planning on using? Nice spinner....type?

The plane is a Hangar 9 Cap232g(27%) from Horizon Hobbies. It cost less than $400 and is a very good ARF. It has a 22x8 prop and a Truturn 31/4 inch spinner. It has not been flown, waiting on a very calm day for the first flight. There are videos of this plane on RCU. I am using a JR7202 radio and JR servos (ds8411 & ds8611a). This is my first gas.

Hi !
I have the Mvvs 45 mag with Ks silencer till 65ccm , headerlength is 26cm , diameter 25mm .
It swings a 21x11 3bl Engel carbon at 6800 rpms , with manufakturer needlesetup and 1:30 fuel after a half gallon through . It's waiting for it's maidenflight !
I love it !!! [8D]
This engine needs big props and a canister on low rpms to give max power , it's not a screamer for higher rpms than the midrange of 6 k ! After fully breakein , i will use a Engel 22x10 3bl .

RE: Evolution 45GX2 LOVE IT OR HATE IT
UPDATE,
A couple of friends at our field have had the crank bearings go bad... If you see any black goop coming out of the front of your motor IT IS GREASE AND bits of the casing .....
Anyone else having this problem ?? I've had about 6-8 flights on mine since being rebuilt for broken piston ring which seixed the engine...... These are all NEW einges with less than 5 galloms thru them

Someone asked for a vidio of one running, this is a vidio of the comparison between a Brison Pitts wrap around silencer and an MTW 75 Cannister installation, the cannister gave 1150rpm increase without touching the needles: http://media.putfile.com/MVVS-45-Mag...-and-Cannister note the burballing at full throttle with the pitts silencer and the clean pick up with the cannister, these engines definatly need a free flowing exhast not a back pressure system like the pitts wrap around. The vidio was with a wooden 22x10 on its first gallon of fuel at 30:1.

RE: Evolution 45GX2 LOVE IT OR HATE IT
I just got a GP Cap27%. I'm looking at powerplants and I've never had a gas. I want your guys thoughts. This is the new 4 Stroke OS200 that weighs 30oz with muffler. I've read some of the rpm's on the above posts. Just tell me what you think. I want to do 3D. Eye level hovers w/ authoratative pull out. Just like I do with my little planes. Nobody has a gas or large scale where I fly. With a gas.. This plane will weigh out to be about 13 1/2lbs - 14lbs. With this engine it would be around 12 1/2. I realize the benefit of gas price/clean up. Trying to get somebody to talk me into gas.
os200:
18x6 8,920
18x8 8,360
18x10 7,340
20x6 7,230
20x8 7,230

RE: Evolution 45GX2 LOVE IT OR HATE IT
Radar Controller,
I have the GP Cap 232 also. I never flew it glow. I started with a Fuji 43ccbi which flew it well, but just not quite enough pullout in a low hover. I just bought a DA-50, got it thursday, and when i put the fuji on my scale and then the DA, the DA is a half pound lighter. That will put my plane @ 13 1/4 pounds. With the fuji it flew much like a big foamy, can't wait to see it now. IMHO, the Evolution and the DA are the same price, I go with the DA. I've had an evolution.
There is thread in the 3-d section on this plane and different set ups, you need to read, some great info over there.

I dunno. From a performance standpoint the DA and the Evolution are pretty much a wash. So it just comes down to preference. DA probably gets a slight edge because it such a proven workhorse, but I have an Evolution and I see absolutely no reason to switch to DA.

RE: Evolution 45GX2 LOVE IT OR HATE IT
I have the Evolution 45gx2 in the H9 Cap232g. I have been flying it for over seven months. It cranks after 3 flips and I have never had a dead stick. It is still set at the factory settings and it runs great. I use 93 octane gas with a 40:1 Mobil1 2T racing fully synthetic oil.

Don't know where Radar gets his figures from but I guarantee the MVVS 45 Magnezium weight is under 3Lb with the plug in and turns a 24x10 @ 6200rpm or a 22x10 three blade at 5900rpm I have one and use it without any trouble at all, pulls a 2M Edge around like it weighs nothing, its over 7KGs.
