Default Hitec Servo Inquiry

Hello, Was hoping someone could help me figure out how much torque I am looking at with:
HS-605BB servos.
Upgraded to metal gearsets
SWB doublelock halfarms for no play
Both with 4.8 v as well as 6.0 v

It does not list at Hitec archives with metal gear 605's

Thanks a bunch,
Jeff

The servo arm is not a basis for torque quantity. I believe the metal geared version of the 605 was known as the 615. Whatever the rated torque for the 615 at 6volts is noted as would likely be what you now have.

If you are using a longer lever arm in the attempt to increase a servos' torque, you are going to get into a lot of trouble very quickly.

Indeed the longer the arms the lesser the torque. Just depends on where you put it on the arms.

The HS-605 fitted with the 615's metal gear set effectively becomes an HS-615MG and deleivers 107oz/in @ 4.8V and 132 oz/in @ 6.0V. Both servos share the same servo case and electircal components.

Thankyou for the replies, The swb arm is the same length as the fiber reinforced arm, Just everyone always throws out questions of "what are you using on it....." So that is why I said the arms I am using.
I was using the 605's prior on the same application with great performance. Just wanted a little more strength for peace of mind without spending another 200.00 bucks for upgraded servos at this time.
It sounds like I made a legitimate upgrade with the metal gears. My servos are done now and mounted.

Thanks again, Jeff
