Default Learning to Fly With TI On or OFF?

Hi all,
I'm learning to fly a Draganflyer and noticed that in the printed manual, they recommend that you learn how to fly with TI off. In the instructional dvd though, I think at one point it says to do flight training with TI on. Which is best? I had a pretty wicked crash on the weekend when the machine got away from me and I couldn't recover before it hit the ground. If I had TI on, maybe I wouldn't have crashed.

Thanks,
Bruce

Default RE: Learning to Fly With TI On or OFF?

I have had mixed results with both TI on and off. I had a serious crash when I had TI ON but I was also flying it during the evening when the sun was setting and I think that is what affected my flight. I took another flight during the middle of the day with TI on and had my best flight ever. I always use the advanced mode though for the controls as the controls are much more responsive.

So I would say that it depends on the condtions outside. If it is cloudy or you do not have a clear view of the sky I would say to fly with TI off. If conditions are good then fly with TI on.

I always fly with both for a while just to get used to both.

In my opinion, if you want to experience controlled flight quicker, then using Ti is the best way to go. Take a look at this post.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll try out the TI next time I fly.
