Grub screws are a booger to remove if they are completely below the surface. You can try and use an easy out on it, but I suspect you will have problems finding one small enough. Put it into a vice, get an allen wrench that is just bigger than the hole (better use one you do not want to use again) and hammer that sucker down into there. That may do it. They also make reverse drill bits, just be careful not to mess up the cup or the threads.

Edit - Forgot the easiest one. If by any chance there is a piece of the grub screw that is above the surface, take your dremel and cut a slot into it and use a standard screwdriver on it.

not some freakin Mariah Carey blog ass, teenie bopper, ****** site.
Whatever happened to Hi folks or Hello people or just plain Hi?
Is saying Hi Peeps cool? Peep, is that like a loyal do what everyone
else does sheep? How about saying Hi all. Is a peep a mindless
non thinking follower of the latest dufus fad? Is a peep someone you talk down to ?

I'd use a Dremel and just grind it away, along with a portion of your drive cup! At least your tranny output shaft will be saved. What do the rest of you peeps think?

Mix up a dab of JB weld and glue an allen wrench into the grub screw, let it harden overnight and try to unscrew it the next day. Works sometimes, sometimes not[:@]

I would do that but first use a real small pin punch and smack the bottom center of the screw with the outer holder being held against something solid if possible, the vibrations from being hit will sometimes jar the threads enough for it to work. Then use the JB Weld and give it the correct drying time....works alot of times......Good Luck

Thanks

Yo peeps

Anyways, for the grub screw, is it the collet pin that locks the center cup on the rear output shaft of the tranny? If so, I assume you are running dual disc brakes and the pads had worn down to the metal. If this is the case, heat from the brakes have heated up the grub pin and caused it to expand and molecularly bond with the hex cup drive.

If this grub screw is the screw that goes on the cup on the other end (the diff input shaft), I don't know what caused that screw to bond with the cup like that.

Anyways, doesgo has the right solution in his post: drill out the grub screw and kiss the grup screw good-by. Be sure to use a drill bit meant for drilling metal and make sure your bit diameter is just slightly smaller than the inner-most thread diameter. Otherwise, you will have ruined the cup also. The troublesome grub screw I think you have is part # 86094 (I think, I should know, I replaced enough of these little beeyatches). Get a bag of those grub screws; they will give you problems more than just this time.

Yo peeps,

g-unit checkin it with the homies. Yo dawg, if you got another cup an you aint to worried bout it just drill that mo fo outa there cuz it just aint worf it. Once you drill past the threads the rest of the pin will just slide out.

Peace out yo.

I have drilled out several, that became rusted, and crusted in then striped out.Drill out the threaded part with a small bit gradually getting larger till it will turn out easily.
just dont go bigger then the screw and youll be fine.
Be sure you have good drill bits!

I don't really care, but "peeps" bugs me a little too. I understand there are all types and ages of people here, and you have to realize some people don't encounter that type of slang anywhere but here... and to be honest, it just seems a little silly to them(us). It also might have to do with my disrespect and dislike for the hip-hop lifestyle though, and slang such as this is very representative of it.

Some of us are just old geezers(I'm only 30 and already qualify)... so give us a break.

Chronic- Give you a break? it was one word in a post that one person decided to flame me for. If i decide to write Peeps instead of People that is upto me and i do not deserve to get flammed for it. Plus, why bring it up on an RC forum? You start going on about Disrespect for hip-hop?? Why? I dislike 70-80's music, probably your style but you do not hear me slagging it off. Every single person in this world is who they are and are individual, let them get on with it. We do not need PEEPS like FXRS doing stuff like that on a RC forum....... but it has been fun aint it PEEPS!!!!

When I said "give us a break", I meant give fxrs a break for speaking out. You may have a chip on your confused little shoulders, but I was being civil... so get over yourself.
