What is the most powerful 1/8 scale nitro stadium truck or buggy ever created?
Before I knew that Traxxas graded their engines differently I was stunned at the Jato 3.3, now I know 3.3 for Traxxas means .20. The Schumacher Rascal has a huge engine for it's size, a .18 and it is only about a foot long!
So I was wondering what the most powerful 1/10 to 1/8 scale buggy or stadium truck was, I thougt it might be the Schumacher Havoc but wasn't sure...

The most powerful 1/8 stock monster truck is the Thunder Tiger Ek4 with a huge .70!
Otherwise the Cen genesis is pretty powerful to![X(]

Does double engine trucks count? If it does Kyosho Gigacrusher/HB GTX 2 and OFNA twin titan would be right up there.

ha ha get the GTX2 and drop in 2 LC32MT engines (they each make I think 3.6 HP) and some sweet vantage CF pipes and you got yourself a good 7 HP right there!

Buggies and ST aren't considered powerful. They are fast. Now if you are going for that, then the Jato 3.3 is the fastest

Yeah that's what I thought. What about the 1/8 Ravager buggy? It's got a .28 engine and looks pretty cool.

Hi,
Yeah, the TTR EK4 is a beast, definitely the most powerful. If you have seen videos, this truck has front wheels in the air for 70% of run time. Kind of over powered. The engine is the size of a Coke can.

it probably is more like 4-4.5 hp but if your engine is a 4 stroke there you have your reason right there. Airplane engines are known to have a lot less HP than car engines though. For example:
This engine gets 1.65hp and it has a .46 displacement ( http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXFMD5&P=ML )
Whereas this engine ( http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXJFY8&P=ML )
gets 1.5 hp and has a .12 displacement
pretty much the same power but it has only 1/4 the displacement!
Also the .12 has 40,000 rpm whereas the .46 has 17,000.

as for your 1.5hp .12
here
http://www.nitrodynesystems.com/OS%2018%20TZ-P.htm
is an actual dyno test of the .18 version of that engine. It only makes 1.09hp and yet they claim more hp (1.5) out of a smaller engine! I don't think so.
Even a modified Siro Evo III, the most powerful tested .12 and a full race engine makes 1.1hp

The point I'm trying to make is that manufacturer quoted HP figures are not worth anything. What they quote and what they actually produce are usually vastly different.
Some other dyno test's for those that are interested.

The ravager is a good Buggy. It is basicly a revamped Ofna 9.5. The .28 is a strong engine and holds a tune fairly well.
Are you looking to buy one??? If so let me know. I may have a deal for you on a very LOW usage Ravager.
