Default StreetForce Tuning Help

Hi all,

I recently (a few months back) bought a StreetForce GP.

I had it running good... Good enough to break the screws in
both the front and rear diffs... lol

After replacing those and putting some nice foam tires on it,
I'm having a hell of a time getting it tuned and running good
in this colder weather...

I've replaced the glow plug, and put in fresh fuel, but cannot
get this thing running properly. Can anyone give me a good starting point for all the adjustment screws (High, Low, and Idle adjustment), and then some tips on getting it tuned and running happy?

Help!

EXTREMELY frustrated,
Mike

1st, Welcome to the board! Now is your engine stock? If it is look here-> Duratrax engines If not check the manual for the engine or the website for the engine. If it is a stock engine you may have been pretty lean to break the screws in the diff's, the Duratrax engines are not known for power. Good Luck.

Hi there,

Yes, my engine is stock.

I have now set my engine according to this:

http://rcvehicles.about.com/library/...e_duratrax.htm

I've also replaced the glow plug.

In testing with my old glow plug, it appears as though my glow starters suck

My rechargable one was more or less dead, and my C battery powered one that was included with the car, I don't have any
reliable batteries that are working in it.

Now that I've set the above, I'm going to take it outside and try to start it again.

Ok, I'm able the get the car started...

My problem now is keeping it running!

The only way I can get it started is to turn off the car's electronics
and push the throttle open a little bit. The car will start right up, however, the minute I turn the electronics back on, and the
servo kicks things back to idle, it shuts off.

What do I need to adjust?

sounds tome like you just need to adjust the throttle position. After that it should keep it reved high enough to keep the car running.

Idle screw, open the carb hole about 1 to 1.5 mm. Smaller than a house key is thick.

Ok, done.

When was getting it started with the throttle open, if I gave it more gas, it would die...

Help meeeeeeee... lol

I'm very mechanically inclined, but know nothing about these cars, and I'm trying to absorb as much as I can, but finding information/help is near impossible.

When you get it started leave the glow ignitor on it, then pinch the fuel tube at the carb inlet. The idle should go up then die after about 5 seconds. If it just goes up and up and up then dies the low speed is too rich, lean it out in 1/8th turns until it run as described above.
