I am trying to do a comparison between an OS 32 SX and a Webra Speed 35 Aero. I can't find any useful data even from Webra's website all their specs are in metric or something.
How do the two engines compare? I currently have the OS and was thinking about the WEBRA for another plane. Anyone have experience with the 2?

Hi Woodduck,

I have both of those engines but haven't run them yet. Actually it is hard to get much info on the Webra 35. It seems that Paul's Hobby Supply is the only US importer for the 35 Aero engine. I'm not sure why. It is such a lovely engine, ringed, slightly larger carb than the 32 Webra. After talking to Paul a few times I believe that the 35 will produce more power than the OS 32 which is already a beast of an engine. If you like engines I would definitely suggest owning both as I do. The Webra 35 is so light and a work of art with it's black head. I paid about $105 for my Webra 35 from Paul a year ago. They come set up for low nitro fuel but Paul has the extra head shims for a couple of bucks.

I ordered from Horizon they are about 165 miles from me and I get my stuff the next day. My price was $106.95 shipped. Thanks for the info on the DD that was want I wanted the Webra for.
I am not interested in overpowering the DD. I like the light weight approach, with OS 32 SX and 720 mah nimh about 38 oz.

TT Pro-36! More powerful than an OS 32SX...

I really don't think the TT 36 is more powerful than the OS, I have both. The OS is rated at 1.2 HP, the TT is 1.0. The OS weighs 12.32 oz, the TT weighs 11.4 oz so the TT is a bit lighter. The practical rpm range of the OS is 2k-22k, the TT is 2k-17k. The only advantages to the TT are: it is .8 oz lighter and it costs $50 less. The OS is more powerful, parts are easy to get,it has the remote needle valve.
I have tached my OS at 16.8k with a 8x6 prop the best reading for my TT was 14.4k I will stick with the OS but thanks for the input.

With larger diameter props, the TT definitely makes more power. A buddy of mine has the OS 32SX. Using an 11x3 prop, my TT makes over 1500 rpm than his OS.

Power output: 1.45PS = 1.429HP does not show where the peak is.
Practical RPM: 2800 ~ 19000
Bore: 19.3mm
Stroke: 19.5mm
Weight: 268g (not sure if this is with muffler or not. Probably not)

OS engine website shows OS 32SX as
1.2bhp @ 18000 rpm
19.6mm bore
17.5mm stroke
2000 ~ 22000 rpm
270g

Looks like the Webra is the winner. I like long stroke engines.

I noticed the 35 on the webra site also-specs look great,
didn't know they were less $$ than the os. Keep us posted on
real-world performance. Would love to do a side-by-side comparison vs OS. Just bought a Magnum 36 for price and

Hi. I have a Webra .35 on Diamond Dust .... just like Jeff/Bubba/Chuck said. Macs pretuned pipe for the OS 32. 18k+ on an APC 8x8 prop. Strong, and reliable too...the only deadsticks I've had are because of running out of fuel.

I know, it's strange isn't it? So many things seem to get lost in the translation between here and Austria. I did see this engine (specs and all I think) on an alternative webra website. Darned if I can find it at the moment, but I think it might have been a link someone gave me to a site across the pond. Time will tell. It makes perfect sense to give us a 36 of the ABN type though. A 39 will probably be the next offering. Such fun we have just reaping the advantages of progress..... if we can be patient!

The webra 36gt will give you the same rpm with a 9/7 prop as the os 32 with a 9/6 prop.
