Traxxas makes a long single layered batt pack with 5 cells, is that for the TQ3 radio? I want to put a hump pack on the truck and use soemthing in the pistol transmitter, any ideas as to what is best to use? Also do I need to buy adapters so that the traxxas hump pack will wire into the stock switch on the batt box?? Thanks!

ok, first off what truck is this going into ? And are you replacing a flat 5 cell pack with a hump pack with 5 cells ? If so, then it is worthless. Because if it has 5 cells, it has 6 volts of power, if it has less or more you will fry your radio unless the directions say other wise.

Sorry, should have specified.
Going into a T-MAXX 2.5 I figured I would put the 5 cell hump pack, into the truck, to replace the 4 AA's, my understanding is that is what that pack is made for?
I think maybe I was wrong, and the flat 5 cell pack, is madef or the Revo??

I wanted to do something better with my stock TQ3 Radio, instead of using 8 AA's, I was wondering if there is a rechargeable pack for that particular stock radio??
I am wondering if I want to install that 5 cell hump pack into my T-Maxx 2.5, if I need to cut out the old batt holder that held 4 AA's, and somehow find the connector so I can put it on the wires leading to my on/off switch?? Or does the hump pack already come with that?

Yep, the flat pack is for the revo. I just got whatever hump pack my lhs had.
It was a dynamite 1100mah one. 8 AA's are good enough for a radio. THe only thing I could see a pack in a radio heling with would be range. I really have no clue. I got my maxx used, but I am pretty sure there is a connecter thats on the 4 cell AA thing. So unplug it and plug in the new bat.

You can juat use 4 AA size nimh battries, about $6 at Wal Mart) but you only have 4.8v. That's not a problem but it will slow down and weaken your servos. It will not hurt anything though. You can use the Revo flat pack but it will not fit in the stock battery box but I have seen some people strap it to shock towers. You can also use a 5 cell hump pack and it will fit in the stock battery box just fine because they are made of 2/3 AA sixe batteries. If you use a dedicated reciever pack it will come with the correct connector as most recievers use the same connector now days.

A full charge lasts, well, I don't know how long. I've never really noticed any issues with them draining down quickly at all. If they've sat for a while since I last used them, I charge them and never had a radio quit from dead batteres.
They're $5.99 for a four pack of 2500mah batteries and they're (WM) literally a mile from my house. And no shipping charges either. I would not be surprised that the Venoms are a higher quality battery but at nearly twice the cost plus shipping I'll stick with the ones I've got.

One last thing I still am not clear about. Does anyone know if the traxxas 5 cell hump pack, comes with a connector so you can connect the pack to the switch? Right now in stock form it looks as if the wires just go directly to the 4 cell batt holder.
I will just go with rechargeables for the remote then.
Traxxas makes a simple charger for charging those smaller packs, and it can charge a 7.2 V EZ start pack as well, so is that a good little charger, just for charging those smaller packs? Thanks!

Also, I'm sure that the Traxxas pack will come with the right connector. Every other rx pack I've bought has the same connector so I cannot see Traxxas selling one that would not work with their vehicles.
