Ok so the two rear drive cups are in place as well as the screws that hold them in place and the diff is intact right?

Maybe the wheels are rounded out?

Pics of the diff, get a close up of the teeth on the big outer gear. Of the drive cups and of the hexes of the wheels while your at it.

I had the same thing happened after i ran into a set of concrete steps at about 20 mph. It ended up blowing the rear diff and i had to replace alot of crap.

Check the pins in the diff shafts, the ones that go into the groove in the back of the side gears. I had the same thing happen to my LST2. The front just went completely dead, and when I pulled it apart the pins were broken into three pieces.

Sorry man i can't remember everything i needed. I was so busy i just ended up taking it to my local hobby shop and he fixed it. basically i needed a whole new rear end (Diff). I have no clue how it happened either. I ran STRAIGHT into the concrete steps and it blew my REAR Diff? What is up with that? You'd figure i would have broken something else, that actually hit the steps but nope.

If the diff is intact then theres not much to look at. Check the hexes in the rims, make sure they are not rounded out. Check the drive cups again in case this time it is a grub screw. Appart from that im at a loss, i dont think its the tranny but i could be wrong...

There is another grub screw to check for. This grub screw is called set screw part # 86094 and is right behind thre tranny case. Check this diff cup here by the tranny case.

Set screw 86094 is notorious for falling out and is one of the major culprits for turning your beloved 4wheel drive Savage into a front wheel drive. (Other than 86094 falling out, another more expensive reason why your Savage is now only front whel drive is because of the rear diff being stripped; which you guys already discussed above in considerable detail.)

Anyways, when you go to your local RC store, make it part of your errand to pick up several bags of spare 86094s, that little beeyotch will fall out on a regular basis. You might want to also invest in some red loctite to just about permanently glue that 86094 into place. Even with red loctite, I still had 86094 fall out on mine and turn my daily basher into a front wheel drive
