It is an upgraded SM F-15. It will have carbon spars, titanium elevator rods and an aluminum/ball bearing elevator mechanism. Exact same CG and throws. It'll fly great with a P-80 and be even more fun with a P-120.

Buy it, you'll like it.

The FB F-15 does not have ball bearing elevators. It is just like the Skymaster kit. It also does not have carbon spars, but the same as Skymaster. It's the same jet, with much better paint.

Anyone know how the FB F15 compares to the Jetlegend? Looks to be the same.

Rav,

I held one in my hands last month, right out of the box. It had sleeve elevators and flat aluminum spars. It also had the best paint work I have ever seen on an ARF. Drop dead gorgeous it was. Maybe the new ones will be different, but as of a couple of weeks ago, it is not.

What more would you like to know?

I love the look of that JADF f-15, I may have to go for one, i was really a toss up between the skymaster 1/8 f-16, I was leaning towards the f-16 because it looked more agile in the air, all the f-15 video i have seen it just great big beautifull sweeping manuvers, if i am wrong please correct me. are you pleased with the aircraft Powergrunt?

Yes I am happy with the kit and it was not to hard to put together. The main problem I had was to locate the solid wood section in the control surfaces to cut the slots out for gluing in the horns, both the F-18 and F-15 we got had no manual but got there in the end
Also some of the holes in the Rudders, Flaps and Ailerons for the hinges needed to be squared up so that the control hinge was smooth.
The elevator pivots, Rudders, wing ect are a nice fit and was a case of just screwing it all together once I had the horns ane servos installed.
Took me about a day to install the doors, air cylinders and get it all nice and neet so if you are not into fiddly jobs I would suggest going for the built version which has the doors, cylinders, horn slots ect all done.

Regards Pete

I saw one guy say his doors were hinged and the cyllanders were installed on his bao F-18, are you saying that the F-15 or ALL of their ARF's come this way? That is worth a part of the price difference right there as i have been told some of the other Chinese arfs dont even come with gear door hinges. Russ

I own both SM and JLF15. All the ordinances are compatible. FeiBao used to build SM F15, so they are all compatible.

Thanks for the feedback. What about cockpits? Where can I buy those items and do ordinance kit come painted (camo for example)?

Thanks. Regards.

Hi Russ and others interested in the way Fei Bao line of jets maybe ordered. FB kits and ARF's come with various levels of finish from the manufacturer, for instance the 'kit versions' of F-15 and most others require various formers to be installed/glued, control surfaces need to be hinged and horned, gear doors/cylinders need fitting etc. yourself, and then also finishing with painting model yourself, a bit of extra work but you can save a some money going this route.
At the other end of the Fei Bao scale you may also order the completely factory finished model (less radio gear/engine) if desired with all formers installed with Hysol, control surfaces hinged and pre-slotted ready for control horn installation. All gear doors, speed brakes hinged and fitted along with air cylinders, retracts/wheels and brakes, tailpipe, hardware etc. as well as fuel cells installed and plumbed. And finally 'out of mould' painted, detailed and in many cases a weathered finish done by factory for you in a wide selection of colour scheme options.

The various levels of factory finish options are in addition to the basic 'kit' price and can be included at time of ordering....The top of the line FB finish options allow you to have model ready for flight within as little as one week. The FB kits/ARF's do not come from factory with instructions, regional reps can supply experienced jet modellers or first time jet builders with all the critical build and equipment selection information they may require. Photographic build and fitting out guides should become available soon from the Fei Bao dealer network this should cover most of the common FAQ's.
Hope this helps clear up some Fei Bao related questions for you and others...

Cheers- Marty

I just received my FB F15 on Monday this week and it has carbon spars, I have not checked the ball bearing elevators yet. The out of the box quality looked good, paint work is good. As I've already built one of the Yellow F15's I can't imagine this one being any harder to assemble. I also paid the money to have the doors installed, well worth the money.
