Default Composite ARF hardware question

My yak 2.6 came with what looks like 4-40 dubro clevises for the servo horn and control horns. Is there an alternate setup to this? I would think the 4-40 clevis would eventually wear away the fiber control horn. WOuld you use a ball linkage instead?

Don't use a ball link on a phenolic horn, unless it's a double horn setup with the ball link in the middle. I have been using my own clevises on my 2.6 Extra on the phenolic control horns for three years and they don't wear the horns away.

Unless a ball link is attached at both sides of phenolic horns they cannot be used. You're stuck with pin clevises I'm afraid. A major detractor from a very high quality and high priced plane. You would think they would have a two legged horn on planes of this caliber. They do for the 3.3 meter.
