I have a Maxx 2.5 with some goodies on it. I was wondering the best way to make it way wider for stabillity in cornering. Without spending tons of cash? Can I just get some alluminum spacers to add like 3 inches? Longer arms? 40 series wheels with offset? Maybe standard sized wheels with the spacers. Or all of the above? Assuming there is longer arms, what else do I have to change to go that rought? So many options? Also I broke my front skid plate today and not sure weather to go alluminum or just get some RPM skids? Won't alluminum just bend instead of breaking? I love bashing so I care more about durabillity than weight. Titanium! Expensive though. Throw me some input!

40 sieris wheels is probably all you can do, you dont want to put them spacers on there because they will put a lot os stress on the axle carriers, even offset rims put more stress on them, making them much more likely to break.

if your just bashing rpm a arms then just stock up on the stock plastic parts for spares, maybe aluminum bulkheads, they seems to be a good upgrade for the maxx trucks.

Yeah get some offsets they help enough without compromising too much strength!

The RPM arms will widen it at least an inch. Get some offset rims too.

No they wont what are you talking about??? He has the 2.5 Maxx and the RPM arms are the same length as the stock ones..

Thanks for the info.! So, they don't make longer arms? And what about the skid plates alluminum or RPM's? I like the looks of alluminum better, but do they bend easily?

You can add 3/4 of an inch by upgrading your 2.5 axle carriers and axle shafts to 3.3 axle carrires and shafts. No one makes a longer a-arm, there all the same cept the gen 1 maxx (narrow maxx). You can also buy the extended chassis giving you more stability and the option to use a big block later on... Deffinetly get the aluminum bulkheads and RPM plastic a-arms. When you go to bigger rims (40's) you put more stress on the sterring servo and all it takes is one bad landing to kill it. I use stock size rims for bashing, well stock losi aftershock rims. There offset is like 1/4 inch wider the the maxx rims, so I gain 1/2 inch on top of my 3/4 inch using the 3.3 carriers and axles. The aftershock rims themselves are wider then tmaxx rims giving the tire more contact with the ground.

Please dont buy alum skids[&o] They bend like paper damnit, such disgusting qualitu I threw mine out, and the holes for the screws got warped and eventually ripped out, talk about crap alloy

if you are going to buy aluminum make it unlimited engineering, they use 7075 alloy which will not bend, a guy was building a chassis out of 3mm 7075 and he had to put it in a vice and jump on it to give it a rake, it is about 3 times stronger than 6061, and about 5 times stronger than integy aluminum which is filled with fillers to make it shiny aand cheap, but it makes it bend easily. if you dont care about weight go 7075, if you do then buy titanium, and RPM skids just go over the stock ones. you can't use them by themselves.

EDIT: I forgot to address widening, you can buy aluminum spacers on ebay, or just use offset rims, the widest offsets you can get in rims is the API racing aluminum rims, and they have a lifetime warranty so you don't have to worry about them breaking.

If you upgrade the skids titanium is your best bet.
