So I am outside over my driveway praticing hovering in a little bit of wind and all of a sudden it looks like the top of the heli just exploded! Luckily I wasnt but 2 feet off the ground, but parts including both blades went flying off at high speed. I was lucky that I didnt get hit. I knew exactly what had happened before I even went over to look at it. One of the bolts holding the spindel had come loose! It was still inside the blad grip. The amazing part of all this is that the only thing that got bent was the spindel itself. All of the parts you see in the pic below is what went flying off the heli. Somehow I managed to find every single peice some of which went flying into my yard and the grass is about 3" tall at the moment. I dont know how I managed to find them but I think I should be able to get her back in the air in a few hours, just got to try to strigeten the spindel and LOCKTIGHT it in

I'm curious, did/does your main rotor gear cut into your fuselage?. Mine did, so I used a dremel to cut that area out and round it off so it looks stock.

Well I got her back in the air, one small tap with the hammer and it was stright. Matter of fact I am wondering if it wasnt already bent before the crash because now that its fixed the heli seems to be doing much better than before. Lot less vibration.

Cyclic, no I havent really had that problem, but to be honest I fly most of the time with out the fuselage. Its just too much of a pain to get it on and off. Thats a good idea with the dremel though, maybe I can cut mine so its easier to get on and off.

Yes. I've thought about doing the same as you.

Yeah, mine too - I thought about getting a couple of the rubber rings that holds it on and gluing one on the rod to keep the sides of the canopy from coming in so far, just far enough to get the outside rubber ring on.

You could use a couple of bits of small fuel tubing also. I didn't want to CA the mounting rod into the frame, so I used fuel tube on each side to hold it in place. Never thought of using fuel tube as a fastener until I got the Blade CPP, but that thing is built of tie wraps and fuel tube .
