Default Christen Diffusion SU35 single turbine jet

Hi guys!
On Jet Zone USA's home page there is a 235 cm long Aviation Design SU35 for a single turbine -
yet when I look at AD's home page, I can't find that model. Does anyone know anything about it,
is it available, has anyone built/flown it?? The SU27/35 must be one of the most wanted models
out there, and if there is a full composite, reasonably priced plane on the market, it's really good news!

Anyone?? [:-]

Thanks,
Tor

A lot of the manufacturers on their homepage are incorrect.

I think the Su35 is by Christen Diffusion

Thanks, Siclick, I checked Christen Diffusions home page, and quite right, there it is! So - has anyone built or flown this model,
or bought anything from Christen Diffusion? Any experience with the company, the planes, delivery time and quality? The SU35
looks good, but I need more details!

Thanks,
Tor

Gordon Mac is currently building a Christian Diffusion Jaguar and he seems happy with his kit, you can follow his build thread. The SU 35 on the CD site is a twin engined version not a single, damn!!

Hi John!

My french is not too good, but I took out a part of the description and had it translated in Babelfish where it comes out like this:

"This new kit Christen will enable you to have a model with the dimensions reasonable and adapted to a use in mono engine while preserving its aspect model."

I will email CD, but this leads me to believe that this plane can be flown with one turbine? What do you think?

Basically any of the modern twin jet fighters such as the F15 / 18 Mig 29 / SU 27 can be flown on a single turbine. If a bifurcated pipe does not work as in the Mig /SU the method is to fit the single turbine in one of the engine bays and use a straight pipe. You then have plenty of room for fuel tanks in the other engine bay. The turbine is so close to the centreline that assymetrical thrust should not be a problem.

David Matthews flew his F18 in this configuration at the recent WJM and it flew very well. I have a Mig 29 in the attic waiting for this attention!

John, that's a good idea - in my SM 1/6 F-16 I have my tanks connected in series and although the starboard tank holding 1,5 litres empties first,
I have never noticed any lateral imbalance, so I suppose this would work great.

My small Grumania SU27 has the turbine mounted underneath - between the nacelles. I have also seen this on the Liebetrau SU27, with a shield over the turbine.
At least on my small Flanker, it is hardly visible in flight, and you don't even need a pipe, just a sheet steel protection above the turbine.

John,
CD SU-35 is powered actually by a single turbine wich is a Merlin 170.
Turbine is located just behind the cockpit so the SU is scale.

Hi Loic -
have you seen this plane flying - or even the set? It looks like a nice set, and I am interested in some details:
Is it ARF - are the formers and the hinges already in place, ready for retracts, hatches finished etc?

If you have any information, I would be grateful!

Thanks,
Tor

Guys,

I have seen several of CD's models flying at different jet events, including the SU35.
The molding job is outstanding on all his products.
I talked to him once on the phone, he seemed like a nice guy.
If you guys need me to contact him for you or to translate anything, let me know.

Tor,
I've seen the first flights : impressive !
Didier is a friend but honestly, all of the CD's range jets is really good. Planes are very strong but lights wich is not every times the case with some others.
I flew a "small " Rafale from him and after a T-22 Warrior. He made himself a lot of tests before sale a kit.
The SU-35 is ARF as the formers are already in place but hinges must be glued and small work to do. Panel lines are engraved with rivets. It's really a very nice bird.
Do not hesitates to contact him, better by email. Sometimes he need my help for translation.

Hi Yann and Loic!

I have sent a mail and am hoping to get an answer soon - if it is anything like it seems in his home page, I will order
one of these planes. I just love the SU27/35 planes, and this will be a nice model for my GBooster 160!!

Thanks for you help!

Icepilot,
For sure it is a nice plane. There is one up for sale on a french web site.
I think this is the one I saw from time to time at jet events.
The guy wants to move up to the bigger SU from AD.

Yann, do you have a link to the website? Do you know how they make the exhaust tube on this one -
is it one tube or bifurcated?

Icepilot,

I think the pipe is bifurcated.
I checked the ad on the web site and it doesn't say much.
Price is to be negociated. It also says that the plane can be seen on CD's web site.
I'll PM you his Email address tonight.

Tor.

Fei Bao is also comming out with a nice sized SU27, that I believe is for a single turbine. I have no idea of when it's relesed, but it look pretty finished on the pics. It's probably much less work to be done on that one compared to CD and Liebetrau SU's

Check out: http://www.fbjets.com/index.php?Jet=23

Scale:1/9

Length:96 3/4"(2460mm)

Wingspan:65"(1650mm)

I have sent mails both to Fei Bao and a dealer asking about this plane - it looks great and has been on Fei Bao's web page
for a very long time, but there seems to be no progress, no details and no answers about it. It could be worth waiting for, but
not for another year!!
