You wont buy a better boat for that amount of money.

Hi guys
Undeniably WH has got all your votes. I saw a Manta Ray straight from the box in Australia and was very impressed. The quality is exactly how it has been described in those forums.
The Rio 51 also seem pretty good except the header issue.....
What do you think is a best buy: Rio51 or Super G, both being in the same price range?
One is tried and tested and the other is very promising......
Thanks
JC

You answered your own question.
However, you've got to compare the Rio to the TeamPro.... not the SuperG' for that price range. Even then the Rio still has the better lines, but I'll settle for quality over a few small issues with looks anyday.

Totally agree with you Doubledog.
WHH is the holy grail of gas boat especially for a newbie......
I'm planning to get my first gas boat in the coming months and it'll probably be a WHH.
Can you guys tell me how durable and how many years do they last with say an average usage of 1 tank of fuel per week for sport boating?
Having said that I own a brushless Aquacraft SV27, had a few problems with it but the customer service of Aquacraft was first class.

Naturally over time it will start to get a few spider cracks in the gel but nothing structural as long as you do preventive maintenance. My old G' got beat to death. A little nitro 3.5 slammed into the side puching a hole. Glassed it back up. Tossed it up on the beach (sandy) more than once, hammered a plastic crate full of beer cooling in the water leaving me with a curled rudder, and numerous roll-overs. I run in the river mainly and huge barge wakes were the thrill of the day. Catch them just right with the throttle & let it fly. Was still in fair condition when it was sold though it needed some TLC.

Consider the Rio is $700 with radio (installed), water cooled 28cc (2 year warranty) Fuji, muffled tuned Stainless pipe.
While the WHH boat (Super G) will come at a higher price ($750) plus radio (Add $130), tuned pipe (Add $129.95). While it includes a clutch - it also now includes an "off brand" air cooled motor. So at $1010 the air cooled Super G with fake zenoah is (in my opinion) falling a little short of the $700 Rio.
I agree the quality of the hull from WHH and build quality is fantastic. But I have to say that the Rio is no slouch in the quality of build department either. And while the Rio has had some introductory issues with the header - Has any one any marine experience with this new budget air cooled motor in the WHH boat??
Personally I think either boat will delight a new boater and both should serve you well. The Rio might have a little more upgradability when it comes to running a performance motor (though no long term feedback for this exists) but the Super G clearly wont handle too much more speed and was never intended to be a racer.

Matt brings up a good point that I overlooked....
WHH is going more towards the cheap route ie, plastic hardware, off-brand aircooled engine etc. Having brought those issues to mind, I'm leery now.
The old G' that I started out with was quality... RC230 Zen, WWH cannister exhaust, XP drive (quality Octura strut & rudder), PRATHER propeller, etc.
Stood behind WHH all along and have appreciated their quality but I'd almost have to pass on the current state of the SuperG'. Doesn't mean I'd buy a Rio either though.

once you hit the $1200 range, you might as well get a AeroMarine. Bother in law bought one after i did, he paid 1300 RTR avenger pro 44 shipped to his door. From what he siad the v-hauls are a little cheaper then the cats. I sold my Aeromarine cat last fall and just ordered a Rio Thursday. if your looking for speed i would stay away from WHH starting line up.
