T-Rex 450SA "Help Get Me On The Right Track"
Well I've decided to stay away from the off brands and stick with Align Heli's. I found basically what Ive wanted and it seems very capable as a good all around heli. Im talking about the T-rex 450SA. I plan to buy one here soon and put some nice brushless/lipo electronics on it. Im not looking to spend alot on electronics so heres what I had in mind...
ESC- http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=2166
Motor- http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=2033
Lipo (3s)- http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=6284
Lipo (4s)- http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=6245
Im not sure which lipo voltage I should get. I'd imagine that 3s would be more than enough for me.
But ya Im basically new to the "Heli Scene". I would love to start with a nice heli and the 450sa looks like the ticket. Im willing to pay bigtime $$$ for broken parts as long as Im able to eventually Master Hovering and normal flying so that I can start 3d.

If you want to stay away from the off brands, why not just get something like this with the Align motor and ESC?

Not trying to say that what you're looking at is bad, just not sure why you wouldn't stick with the Align stuff, at least to start.
And a 3S battery should be more than fine to get you started.
You also might want to look into a simulator. You can learn to fly without one, but it will save you money and downtime in the long run.

I've got to agree, first you say you want the trex to "stay away from non brands" then you go and pick mostly non-brands. The motor is actually specified as a car motor would be. Get the align 3700kv w/ 35x motor/esc and a good lipo. You only need 3S for the battery.
You seem to be under some sort of misconception. Think of it in terms of cars, would you put a cavalier motor and electronics into a corvette?

I know their capable of having the same quality of many name brand products out their accept for a ton less. If they happen to not be what Im expecting then I'll look into name brand stuff.
