Baja Beetle?
I seen a thread about this truck yesterday or the day before.
Do a search for Baja Beetle and you shall have your answer.
I never had one, but I'm thinking about buying one.

Baja Beetle?
I have one, they are fairly reliable if you know how to drive. they go about 25 mph stock, but can easily be upgraded. mine does atleast 30 mph because I run the O.S. .12 motor with a few other hop-ups. parts are easy to get, you just have to order everything.

Baja Beetle?
It is (I believe) a kit, so you would need a radio and servos. I am guessing the battery stick is for ez start? There are many different choices, but you dont need 3000000 MaH batteries to run your ez start (I am guessing, dont have an ez start yet).
Can probably get away with a 6 cell C size and a economy charger. The battery wont need to be charged like it is run in an electric car.
Check out the classifieds and you can probably find some stuff cheaper than new.
Lemme know if you get the beetle. I am interested in seeing how it holds up.
