Default Getting Sponsored!

If I were to want to get sponsored, and was really good at racing, could I do that by just racing major slash races?

Please don't think I am boasting anything in the first part of that sentence, just want to know if I should use $450 to get a nitro, or use it to put brushless, lipo, and Airtronics m8 radio in my slash.

Big sponsors are chassis sponsors. I highly doubt that Traxxas is sponsoring Slash drivers, but if they were, there are some great oens at my track. One time Mike Truhe (losi factory racer) came to ocrc for this 5 hour slash event and some people were driving circles around him.

You cant put those upgrades on a slash because it would defeat the purpose of SPEC racing. Id say spend $450 on a 1/8 nitro buggy, something you CAN get sponsored for.

Get good and get noticed. As with any sport few ever make it to that level.

Yes, but by far it is not as popular. Plus, none of the big races have mod slash.

I actually e-mailed Tamiya to see if they sponsored me, but they have a full roster. I beileve they will for quite sometime.
Actually going to the track and discussing this with people, it's not worth it. If your sponsored you have to be really good!!
I mean really good, like getting darn near first place victories everytime you hit the track. The closest I've ever got was 2nd place.
