Pull pull steering for the velox..
SU$#@$kS!!! I have used pull pull steering before too and it worked fine. BUT for the Velox, I can NOT get it too work[:@] I think I have gone through about 5 feet of wire and plenty of crimps! Pic is NOT my velox. Just to show the steering. Maybe I am using way to think of steering cable... I crimp it kind of tight, but then when try it, with my radio, it loosens up!

Making 180 degree bends is never a good idea, I modified my FB Rafale to have the pull pull steering in a straight line.
I fabricated a servo / battery mount in the nose, it works perfect
p.s. the Rafale suffered an off runway excursion; the plastic servo L brackets failed which was perfect as it did not break the cables, servo or the wood mount

Yeah, you have to make something like half round pieces of 1/4" balsa and insert them on the inside of the plactic tubes & epoxy them in to keep the tubes in place - where the arrow shows in the above posted pic. Then the steering wires won't go loose as the tubes slip thru the bulkhead holes.

Hmm I just think when you buy a kit you should NOT have to modify ANYTHING to get it to work right![:'(] Mine DOES NOT have tubes!![X(]

See picture!
Install in my Firebird no problem what so ever :-)
And make sure you can tighten the closseloop cable since it's always getting looser over time!

RE: Pull pull steering for the velox..
Have Velox. I came up with the same solution others mentioned with respect to inserting a balsa wedge behind the looped guides. Over 100 flights on it last year, put the fix in around flight #20, and since I've had no issues, so I'd say it solves the problem.

Durring assembly I made some 1/2 round inserts out of 1/13 balsa to hold the wire guide tubes in place.
