Default Engine Shaft and Gear problem

Bear with me as I might be using improper terms.

Here's the problem I have.

There isn't a good contact between the shaft and the screw thing in the gear so the gear tends to come loose very easily.

How do I fix that???

are you tightening the set screw( the small screw your talking about) on the flat part of the motor shaft?

Yes it's tighten all the way. This actually happened a couple of times already. Even when I re-tighten it, the screw is still pretty tighten so I have no clue why it's still slipping.

if there is not flat section on the shaft for the set screw to sit on then i see no way of fixing this, it will just keep on slipping.

Grind a small flat spot on the shaft with a dremel tool and cutt off wheel. Then apply blue locktite to the set screw. Allow it to dry overnight. It then should be fine.
