RE: Strut any good??
Take a look at this thread m8.. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_9233453/tm.htm Looking at your strut and looking at the Pics of a Sprint Cat I doubt that it would work. Even if you did manage to fit it to the boat there would be no length left in the strut for adjustments ...

Good luck on your first build Wiseco80, Just think you will have big problems with this strut, Like I said it might fit but there no room for any adjustments, I agree with Dan that it is way to short.

reason I say too short is by looking at the picture it does not seem that you will be able to bring the strut all the way down to the sponson.
what I am trying to explain is,
put your cat on the table, now try to get the bottom of the strut to be flat on the table.
you want to be able to go that low because depending of prop, water conditions and other factors you final strut adjustment will be somewhere from level on the table to 1/2" above.

NO, should not be easy

My Feedback: (1)
RE: Strut any good??
On my Cat hulls I've found it easier to epoxy the next size larger tube in the bottom of the hull then insert the stuffing tube into that. This way if Im cut it too short, kink it or whatever other problem I can easily take it out and replace it. Some add a touch of solder to keep them in place using this method.
If you want to try what I described above then you can cut off and then drill out the old tube with minimal damage if any.

RE: Strut any good??
Other than not having a skeg on iy that most cats need to turn well without sliding it looks like it will be just fine to me. The way it is mounted now I can see almost another inch of slot left although the stuffing tube looks to be bent more for where it is now. Many cats run with the strut or propshaft centerline almost 5/8" above running surface depending on prop. It should work ok if on a budget for now.
Otherwise I would get a Speedmaster skegged strut for it.
