anyone else good at breaking stuff
Is it just me or does everyone else break something every time they run there car I really am afraid to start this thing because I know there is a trip to the hobbie store comming I guess what I am asking is who makes the strongest replacement parts for a tmaxx . The other day I didnt even crash it , it just spun out and cracked the front wheel and broke the rear spindle

RE: anyone else good at breaking stuff
When I purchased one of my first rc cars which is my S-Maxx; after I broke it in I could not operate it more than a couple of minutes without breaking something.
So far I have broken both lower suspension arms and the bulkheads, both lower chassis braces, both front turnbuckles, my proline fuel tank, my servo saver for the steering.
All of this happened within the first few months I owned it and I only use it twice every couple of weekends I purchased it in May of this year I also bent the crap out of my cooling head which is beyond repair.
The truck cost me $330.00 and have already invested about $250.00 in hopups and replacing broken parts.
It is part of the hobby so you can expect things to break and it gets costly but I am hooked and their is no turning back;I already own 4 rc's and it has only been 6 months.
I am thinking about adding Traxxas 4 wheel drive Slash to my collection; I am pretty sure this will happen.
Its an obsession for me.

I used to break stuff every time out as well. after upgrading to rpm Arms and aluminum chassis braces, as well as learning to drive it better and not crash in to stuff I rarely break anything. I think the only 2 things i break anymore are center shafts and glow plugs.

Same here. I bought a used tmaxx off ebay and has been nothing but a money pit. I have spent way more than I would have if I would have bought a new one. Suspension, shock tower, shock caps, bulkheads, body mounts, rear diff, fuel tank, now spur gears...The list goes on and on, not to mention glow plugs and fuel. Took me a while to get everything set/tuned... well... almost tuned. Now breaking spur gears. I guess I just wasn't setting the mesh correctly. Good luck.
When I get the funds on going all electric, i'll keep my tmaxx for when I want to work on something though!!!

well it sounds like I am not the only one then because I cant even get through a tank of fuel and she's broke I dont know how much fuel I have wasted from just pouring it out cause it's time to go home ,but I have replaced just about everything excempt the aluminum frame but give me some time I am sure I will be able to add that to the list but like everyone has said it is addicting for me it gets personal because I can build full out heads up shoot out cars that run in the 8's but I can seem to keep together this little truck go figure

hey slickcb use the paper trick for setting the mesh on your spur gear i have put about 10 gallon through my maxx now and only had to replace spur gear once... the reason being i was tuning it and did not have the body on and it spit up a gravel that caught in the gears..... as far as me replacing anything at 10 gallon i have replace two bulkheads one a arm glow plugs and right now the outer bearing on my crankshaft is leaking air around the crankshaft its self...

RE: anyone else good at breaking stuff
as for replacement parts heres the list that i was told will pretty much make a maxx bullet proof.......RPM a-arms,ROBINSON RACING steel spur and clutch bell,ROBINSON RACING tranny gears,TRAXXAS steel drive shafts,TRAXXAS revo style diff cups(properly shimmed) TRAXXAS big bore shocks, BOCA ceramic bearing kit and integy 3pc aluminum clutch. this list of parts will cost just about as much as another new t-maxx,but i guess if you want reliability in this hobby it comes with a price......im slowly building my bullet proof maxx to withstand the extra .7hp im about to throw at it with my new OFNA picco .26 4.27 red dot drop in engine.......i figure i'll have a t-maxx worth about $3000 by the time im done.

l just break the odd upper and lower suspension arms from insanely high jumps onto conrete.
That and the tyres keep blowing out, LIPO is so fast ! Sometimes when a tyre blows its spinning so hard it blasts all the oil out of the shock ! Thats torque !

Ermm, my revos are all stock digger, l fix when l break, l dont bling up or re-enforce areas until l bust em, and the E-Revos are so durable its awsome, l have metal drive shafts comming as lve popped the back ones out on the 1/16th revo a few times, no dought the big revo will do the same, so l got them commin for t too.l got bead lock tyres comming for the 1/16th revo see how they go, and maybe get em for the big revo too.
l got a couple of upper and lower suspension arms comming, a heap of body clips for the 1/16th revo as there smaller . Wheely bar for the 1/10th, l have keeps popping of when l jump.
Wheels are always a good thing to have spair.

RE: anyone else good at breaking stuff
Im not too bad at breaking stuff really. And usually if i break something, it is a pull start, one way bearing, or a clutch or bearings wearing out.
I had a t-maxx that it seemed like i broke fairly often. I didnt want to spend the $$ to upgrade, and i got a trade on a like new savage, and so i sold the t-maxx. I have ran 6 gallons through the savage, and the only things i have replaced was the one way bearing on the original engine, the clutch, clutch bearings, and the rear differential. About $50 in parts for 6 gallons of running, so i dont consider that too bad.
Driving is a big part of it. I have fun with my stuff, but i dont abuse it with huge jumps, high speed collisions, etc...

l do, after years of racing , in many different parts of OZ, bashing and big jumps are the most fun, yea you risk busting it real bad every big jump you do, thats the whole challenge of it ! Love it.
LIPO and brushless have really boosted jump heights and distances, its just w i k i d !!!
