body shell prep
Hello once again.
About a week ago I ordered some body shells quite a good deal for the price I gave $28.59 with shipping included for 2 of them, and if anyone is interested they still have some of these I thought it was a heck of a deal a bit over nine dollars and they will combine their $8.97 shipping that being the total I payed for my bodies for up to 6 items.
Anyhow before I ordered these bodies I looked into what you had to do in preperation for painting a lexan shell but I still have questions I need you guys opinion on.
#1. Most of the vidios I've watched say to lightly scuf the insides(not including the windshield,or any other window parts) so I assume this must be done though I saw others who did'nt do this step before painting,I also assume the finer the sanding paper the better?
#2. It is suggested to mark where the body mounts and anttena holes should be for the car,my question is it better to go ahead ream said holes first then apply masking tape over them before painting,or should one wait till after the paint is done I thought at best I could use something sharp to at least have a demple in the lexan its self in order to be more acurate.
#3. Am I right to assume I need to trim out everything that needs to be removed from the shell before painting (as in trimming out the wheel area and along the bottom of the shell) this seems to be the wise thing to do but I'm new to this?
#4.Spaz-stiz has a particular paint that I want to use on one of these bodies its a holographic paint said to change to three different colors I believe but am not sure that I would have to use a black backer for this right?
Well that is about it as far as my questions and as always thank all of you for your help and opinions.
