Default H9 Extra 260 35% Servos etc?

I am currrently running 8, HS-5925MG servos on this plane,I have some issues with gear slop whereby the control surfaces have a fair degree of movement for instance you can hold the end of the aileron (power off) and rock it up and down +/- 3mm same with all the rest of the control surfaces...

I also have No1 gear stripped on an outer aileron servo,is this common..

So What do you guys reccomend, new gears or new servos,?

Furthermore I need some recommendations please re power systems? - Currently I use 2 two batt, NIMH 6000mah between them, switched independently, directly into the receiver.

7995s would be a great choice.... no gear issues there.

Don't really need a power system... if you fly 2.4 get a R922 and 2 A123s and done.

Thanks ,I didnt take the plunge to 2.4 , I have looked at the 7955TG you say no gear issues, are they that good? if so I will change out the lot,

You say I dont really need a power system, but almost everyone else seems to have them fitted, where is the line in your experience as to have a power system or not?

please forgive the questions and the manner also, please understand Im only flying these big ones a short while..

7955 would be a great replacement for what you have.

As for a power system, I would recommend using A123 batts. Nominal voltage is slightly higher then a 5 cell NIMH pack and dont require regulators. They can handle a lot more abuse, huge amps draws, and can charge in a really short time. I run 2 A123 2300 packs in my 30% yak and could take 6 flights without charging. I usually stop at 4 and charge though

7955TGs don't have gear issues so they are a great servo.

Since I run a 922 Powersafe receiver I am basically running a power system with A123s and EC3 connectors. For me I think it's a great solution since the receiver is included and it's a failsafe setup.

As long as you run good batteries, good wiring, and setup your servos properly I don't really see the need for a power system in a 35%er. I would consider using a smart-fly eq 3D or a matchbox so you can run 2 power lines to each wing though.

Once you hit 40% I think you need to spend the extra money and get a power system or a power safe receiver.

Thanks Guys..

I appricate your interest,

Jake Ruddy I think I will try the PowerExpander Sport and the smart-fly eq 3D.
As for the servos I am going to hold on to my HS 5625 for now try match them up properly and see how I go.

Thanks Guys

What wasn't said about the 5625s is that they are not known for good centering when you go neutral on your sticks.
The 7955s do everything well.. I went Spektrum.. DX7 Ttransmitter and AR9100 receiver that has two power input
leads. I run a a123 2300 battery pack into each input. I run a total of 8 5955 servos (older version of 7955) on
control surfaces and two 5645s for throttle and choke. No regulators or power distribution required. I run a single
A123 2 cell pack on Ignition with a regulator, as my DA Ignition uses 5.5 volts, as max voltage recommended by DA.
2 dozen flights without any problems what so ever...

For this plane, you need stronger servos - 5955 or 7955 work best. You can get away with 7985 on the wings.

I would not use the 5925 even for throttle.
