Default nitro engine run on diesel

i read in a few places that a normal nitro engine can run on diesel with little or no mods i have no idea if this is true im curious and wondering if anyone has tried anything of the sort on running a nitro engine on diesel?

Your revo motor would not like it, its a loss of power, in the diesel versions of these engines they still have a nitro percentage, the idea of a diesel as a fuel for this type of engine is a little piontless, diesel engines were designed to rev low and produce huge torque, these engines we run are designed to rev hard and fast, useing diesel is a waste of time, energy, and power, they use them in planes where there effective rev range is useable, its around 2000rpm to about 20000rpm, our current meth/nitro engines provide as gooda lubrication, more power, and a much better rev range.
To run diesel through a 3.3 revo engine now, 'if ' it ran at all, would be to clag it up with black diesel soot, that crap would get back into the fuel tank, stuff ya filters, over time ya carby, diesel is messy, a not very clean fuel, look at it under a microscope, of all the fuels its one of the very worst for toxisity, it has a structure like a hook, it tends to build up in humans lungs worse than other fuels, its highly toxic, and diesel likes to run cool, something your revo engine is gunna be pissed about, l would guess you would at the very least to start it need a hot running glow plug.

Heres a link to one they use in planes.

the compression ratio needed to ignite diesel will literally blow the cooling head off of current nitro engines, not ot mention snap con rods like twigs (it's been tried.. you need around 17:1 compression, glow engines run about 5:1 at operating temps) plane engines that run full compression ignition run on a mixture of kerosene and ether to lower the kero's flash point so it can be run in relatively low compression engines, keep in mind it takes a lot of modifying to get it to work, some plane engines are designed for it, but you need a compression adjustment screw (does the glow plugs job of advancing or retarding the ignition timing)

I think their are a lot history and facts that you are not aware of mate. model diesel is before the glow plug what we did was created a special head with adjustable compression and a special model diesel fuel back in 1975 to produce more power double the milage and to do so without the need of a glow plug. you can read about it in our website which is full facts.

What is your point mate ?
Are you trying to say that that 3.3 diesel revo [ utube] had no or little mods ? Like he asked in the topic title ?
You dont need 17:1 compression in a diesel RC engine, you can change the ignition point with additives, you change the fuel from diesel into a mix though, which sort of defeets the purpose of it being diesel, like we run now basicly fuel and oil, l dont get what your point is but, it is possible, but not a very clean fuel.
The advantage of diesel at 17:1 is power at less heat, like tokks said though its going to detonate, not to mention the pull starter at 17:1 or the ezy start system is a joke, that would make a TDC jam look pretty lame !
These engines are designed NOT for diesel as there fuel.
You really need a designed purpose built one for running that fuel.
And your point is ddd ?
And why not leave a link to ya web facts page ?

That link is rubbish zjwhitrock, its just a post of a gloating noob who hasnt actually done it yet ?
Great idea but then so is designing a twin cylinder nitro, still waiting, notice with that guy he is from the airmodel side of the industry, he from what l can make out hasnt even done it yet on a car/truck engine, so its all bla bla bla gloating about how good he is, its not actually a link to a diesel nitro engine that we use now with little or no mods ...

Is this a verbal duel if so your tongue is quite sharp. The purpose some might say in life is to grow and enjoy one self as much as possible along the way. 20% of our customers over the years are from down under and are very nice chaps that enjoy the hobby and try to learn as well so they don't miss out. I must admit i have never heard the terms whats the piont or pointless so many time well heres the skinny. All the thinks you play with started here not in Asia it was our engines radio by the like of Associated, Delta, K&B engines and Kraft radio we are are pioneers as well and bring other sometimes better ways of doing things.

p.s. your a very negative fellow

You misinformation is turning people off why do you persist in saying things that show your lack of understanding as if they were fact but then again your in your teens in an adult forum and you know everthing already I forgot. Start reading and learn something instead of spewing verbal diarea.

All I gotta say is that his ID is "Beer=Food".......says a lot without me having to even read his post! LOL.

Would that be the same as "Fosters=Food"? LMAO! Those are some good commercials, though.....you gotta admit!

And as for diesel being "dirty"......well, I've watched biodiesel sales people physically drink that "soy diesel" to prove it's non-toxicity! Stupid for sure....but, nonetheless.....things are changing. Of course, I realize this is a different type of diesel fuel than what you would use for the R/C version.

And one more thing......as for the diesel "detonating"........uh, do you know how a diesel works? Cause that one word pretty much explained how a diesel operates!!!!!(generally speaking).

Ok.....I think I'll leave now.....cause this thread is getting nasty!

Oh......one more thing.......I've witnessed a 3/4 ton diesel that was in FULL time 4wd spank a Mustang GT at the dragstrip. And it did this while under 4500 RPMs!!!!!

Diesels are surprisingly quick if you build them right. Ive got a friend with a dodge 3500 duely diesel with some mods, bigger turbo, chip, 8" stacks, ect, thing is a beast. Alot of fun smoking "fast" cars with a big pickup, lol.
