I have a 2.5 that has the EZ start. I also have a VERY BAD back. The EZ start has been great for me. I have never had any issues with mine.

Well that's up to you. Do you want to shave some weight off your maxx? I prefer a glow ignitor with a pullstart myself. It's less clutter and simplifies the truck too. If you get one you'll wanna learn how to properly prime an engine. There's a fine line between pulling 40 times and flooding the engine.
